Your student Yulia thanks you for such a useful examples. Everything is clear now.
I would also add that i like your true story examples so much.
Apart from i used to live in Vorkuta in my childhood and we missed lots of school days due to the weather conditions as well but fortunately. nobody made us to go to the school during weekends.
Hi Yulia! I’m glad you liked the explanations and stories! There is nothing like examples from real life!
It seems your listeners are witnessing a new genre of linguistic comedy/storytelling evolving here (I’m the first and biggest fan). Have you ever considered performing at the Moth? You have some great material!
Hi Elizaveta!
Thanks as always for the nice comments! This is actually the first time I have heard of the Moth, believe it or not!
I have as you know a lot of stories, but a lot of them are really horrible and depressing and I am not sure how people feel about that.
I think you’re really articulate and good at telling stories, that’s why I thought of the Moth (I also use their YouTube channel off and on with students). People there tell a lot of different stories, horrible ones as well. Creating such texts and sharing them with others can prove to be therapeutic as well, sort of oral art therapy. It wa just an idea, no pressure)
